Our verdict
The EQ.700 classic is the machine among our picks that copes best with volume. Its tank and bean container are the largest of our bean-to-cup picks, so you refill less often, and oneTouch DoubleCup makes two drinks at one touch. Siemens counts up to 35 hot and cold drinks between the touch display and its Home Connect app, with up to ten favourites saved. Milk is drawn through a pipe from any container rather than a dedicated carafe, and autoMilk Clean steam-cleans the milk system after every drink, so there is no carafe to take apart and wash.
The price of that capacity is size: it is the widest and deepest of our bean-to-cup picks, so measure your worktop before you choose it. There is no milk jug in the box, so you supply your own container. We could read only two UK owner reviews of this model, too few to report on, so this verdict rests on Siemens’ spec sheet and manual.
Cleaning and running costs
Empty and clean the drip tray and grounds container every day; the drink outlet, drip tray and drip pans can go in the dishwasher. Take out and clean the brewing unit regularly, with the guided programme on the display. The calc’nClean programme descales and cleans in one run: have a container of at least a litre ready, and put only cleaning tablets in the tablet compartment. Siemens’ own consumables are TZ80001B cleaning tablets and TZ80002B descaling tablets. A BRITA Intenza filter (TZ70003, or TZ70033A for three) should be changed after two months at the latest; set its ring to match your water hardness, and the machine needs descaling less often. Before moving the machine or storing it somewhere cold, run the frost protection programme to drain the pipes. BSH, which makes Siemens machines, keeps functionally relevant spare parts for ten years on appliances made after 1 January 2023.
Who should look elsewhere
If worktop space is tight, the De’Longhi Rivelia is about 6 cm narrower and comes with a milk carafe. For the least upkeep in a premium machine, look at the JURA E8. Compare it with every bean-to-cup machine we track, or see how it ranks in our pick of the best bean-to-cup coffee machines.

Siemens EQ.700 questions
Does the Siemens EQ.700 TP715GB1 come with a milk jug?
No. The box has a milk pipe and connection hose instead, and Siemens says they work with any milk container, so you can use a jug or the carton itself. After every milk drink, autoMilk Clean steam-cleans the milk system automatically, so there is no carafe to take apart and wash each day.
Which water filter fits the Siemens EQ.700, and how often should I change it?
The BRITA Intenza filter, sold by Siemens as TZ70003 (single) or TZ70033A (pack of three). Change it after two months at the latest. Set the filter’s aroma ring to A, B or C to match your water; the machine itself has four hardness levels, from level 1 (up to 7 degrees dH) to level 4 (22 to 30 degrees dH). With a filter fitted, it needs descaling less often.
What is calc'nClean on a Siemens EQ.700?
A service programme that descales and cleans the machine in one run, instead of two separate jobs. Keep a container of at least a litre ready, and put only cleaning tablets in the tablet compartment. Siemens’ consumables are TZ80001B cleaning tablets and TZ80002B descaling tablets, or the TZ80003A set of cleaner and descaler.
Can the Siemens EQ.700 make two coffees at once?
Yes. oneTouch DoubleCup makes two drinks at the touch of a button, which is the main reason it suits busy households. Siemens counts up to 35 hot and cold drinks across the machine and the Home Connect app, and up to ten favourites can be saved, so each person’s usual drink is quick to find.
What should I do before moving or storing the Siemens EQ.700?
Run the frost protection programme first. Siemens’ manual recommends it before you move the machine or store it somewhere cold, because the programme drains the water from its pipes. Empty and clean the drip tray and grounds container as well, as you would at the end of any day.
